Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination! :)

Hello beautiful!

I was nominated recently by Prutha from The Confessions Of A Music and Book Addict for the Sunshine Blogger award! Thank you so much, Prutha! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoy my blog enough to nominate me.

Here are the rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the sunshine blogger award logo in your blog post.

Prutha had some great questions, and I had so much fun answering them. Here they are!

—Do you think that aliens exist?
I think it’s a possibility, but I would not definitely say that they do. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror right after I wake up, and that can be pretty alien-ish (especially if I’m wearing a face mask), but other than that, I don’t know.

—Do you believe in ghosts and paranormal stuff?
Depends on what you mean. I do not believe in ghosts, but I do believe that everyone has an eternal soul. So not paranormal, really, but spiritual, if that makes sense. I’m a Christian, so I believe we all have souls and that God, angels, and demons are real.

—What movie can you watch over and over and not get tired of?
I’m a huge fangirl for so many movies; this one’s tough. I really love The Princess Bride, and it’s got something for everyone, so that’s a contender. I also really like Ever After, the Cinderella retelling with Drew Barrymore. There are also so many beautiful animated movies like Brave and Tangled. Peter Pan is one of my favorite stories, and one of my favorite movie versions is the 2003 Universal live-action adaptation. I swear I know every minute of that movie by heart. I’m going to go with Ever After and Peter Pan (2003). I know that’s two, but let’s be honest, you can’t expect a fangirl to pick just one favorite movie.

—If could get a paid three-day break from the hustle and bustle of life, where would you spend your vacation?
This is a really good question! It’s another tough one for me, because I’m both a mountain person, a countryside person, and a beach person. I absolutely love traveling abroad, too. My favorite countries that I’ve visited are Ireland, Italy, Greece, and France. If it’s for three days, though, and I want a break, I love to take a couple of friends and spend our time in a mountain lake house or a colorful beach house. Yeah, I know, I’m horrible with picking just one thing. Mountain air, with the rich scents from the trees and the electric feeling of being so close to the clouds, is incredibly relaxing. I love diving off a dock into the lake, too, especially in the late afternoon or evening with the sun sinking down towards the horizon and the cool lake water swallowing me up. It’s deliciously secret, and is one of the world’s most magical feelings. The beach, though, has lazy, hot days spent digging one’s toes in the sand, and smashing into waves, or reading on a porch. They’re both so great, but I think I’ll go with the mountain lake house. I spent way too much time on this question whoops.

—What “old person” thing do you do?
Uh I do a lot of “old person” things. I have a garden that I work on with my sister, I spend an excessive amount of time reading, I bake, and I fall asleep if I sit in the sun for too long. I knit sometimes. To be honest, though, I can’t think of anything in the world that’s only stereotyped as an old person thing, except maybe wearing socks with sandals (which I don’t do).

—What’s the funniest joke you know by heart?
A good steak pun is a rare medium well done. (Sounds better out loud)

—What’s the most ironic thing you’ve seen happen?
Wow coming out here with the good questions Prutha! Maybe the time I gave a guy a bunch of girlfriend advice when he was confused because I actually liked him? I pretty much helped him get a girlfriend when I wanted him to ask me out. That was interesting. I’m over him now though thank goodness.

—What goal do you think humanity is not focused enough on achieving?
Dang. I think we should be more focused on families in general (although that’s partly a USA thing compared to some other countries), and helping young people with mental illness. Lots of kids today are struggling, and I think part of it is because our world is so fast-paced and full of technology, it’s hard to find something real in the way that a good book feels real. We need emotion and friends and love and relationships. The way schools are set up and the things we push kids towards sometimes detract from that aspect of life. I guess maybe I’m trying to say that we should focus more on helping kids deal with mental illness by getting them out into nature and encouraging friendships and working on building strong familial, platonic, and romantic relationships. Yep.

—What’s your favorite video game?
It’s a toss up between Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Mariokart. They’re both pretty fun and nostalgic. I read more than I play video games, but when I do play, it’s almost always been something Nintendo.

—What would you like to say to your younger self?
Spend as much time with your family as possible. Enjoy playing outdoors while it lasts, and don’t stay inside just because it takes a little effort to grab a coat and go out. Go out with friends as much as you can.

—What is one thing that you love about yourself?
I love that I’m made in the image of God. That fact reminds me that I have value, that I am worth something, no matter what happens. No one is capable of taking that away from me.

I always have a book in my hands or zipped up in my bag. I'll probably read through the apocalypse and not realize what's happened.
